Marsh Dykes Catchment Improvement Group

The Marsh Dykes Catchment Group was created in autumn 2013 to bring  the catchment-based approach to the waterways of Thamesmead, Belvedere and Erith, in pursuit of implementing the Water Framework Directive for restoring good ecological condition, and for making other improvements in areas such as access and recreational opportunities.

Hosted by Michael Heath for the Thames21 waterways charity, and Mathew Frith of London Wildlife Trust, the group involves a wide variety of interested parties, including Bexley and Greenwich Councils, Trust Thamesmead, Gallions/Peabody Housing, Tilfen Land, the Environment Agency, Thames Water, the Crossness Nature Reserve Manager, Bexley Natural Environment Forum and  local fishing groups.

Projects should soon be starting that will offer various volunteering opportunities.
