The following free lectures, organised by the Ecology and Conservation Studies Society, covering bird conservation, research on birds and birds in human culture, may be of interest to 'Bexley Wildlife' followers. They are being held at Birkbeck, University of London, across Friday evenings in October and November.
Community Habitat Day at Footscray Meadows September 23 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Thames21 is looking for volunteers to help us create more habitat for fish. We will be working alongside the bank building marginal plantings which will help provide more shelter for fish and areas for spawning.
All tools and equipment provided, along with wellies, waders and protective gloves. We will also be providing refreshments including tea and biscuits.
Please wear appropriate clothing to the weather conditions and you are welcome to bring a packed lunch.
The easiest way to get to the location from the nearest station is Sidcup where you will need to catch the 492 bus to Bluewater, the stop you get off at is ‘Parsonage Lane North Cray Church’.
